Well... as a weblogger, I felt concerned and I wanted to share this feeling!

Shall one censor another?

Well... I read a blog about censorship this morning and found the following statement:

"I discovered that some men and women are still asking themselves if censorship is good or bad. As a free thinker I am bound to believe that censorship should be banished and all thoughts should be freely exposed" (...) "Anyone could express themselves freely within my pages as long as this expression does not go against what is commonly defined as acceptable".

I found this statement especially funny because it assumes that censorship should be prohibited and at the same time justifies it.

It justifies the use of censorship to filter what is acceptable and expose it while what is unacceptable is therefore erased and what is below what common sense would tell remains hidden.

The first question is what was censorship created for?

Censorship was possibly created to protect people from sick thoughts...
Or was it created to protect people from thoughts alltogether?

In any case my question is:

Isn't it abuse of censorship that should be banished more than censorship itself.

No wonder why they are happy. One would be for less.

First: they don't need to worry anymore about the glitches and limitatations of their application and second : they don't need to worry about their future.

And what about Camfrog

Today I tested Camfrog. It is not the first time I do it but today, I did it again.

The reasons I gave up camfrog in the past where related to the nature of the content of the chatrooms...

The reason why I give up Camfrog again today is related to the nature of the content of the chatrooms...

Some things happen to never really change.

It is a shame because Camfrog is a really nice and clean little interface that offers nice features and happens to be fun to use.
It is straightforward and may fulfill all the needs of a user who isn't located within a secured network. Firewall and Proxy support are not up to the expected level, but video and audio quality, if not wonderful compete nicely with most Free-Videochat software.
A bit of control may happen do smother the experience but so far nothing like this seems to be implemented.
It is definitely no software to install if you have your kids around and you - sometimes - let them use your computer.
